Tom Helms, ISA AMDue to his experience, Tom is often called on for speaking events, organizing charitable antique appraisal fairs, consulting with mall owners, working with local auction houses in product identification, and for various writing requests.Tom is a member of the Board of Directors for the Rosson House, a living museum and Phoenix’s first 1895 Victorian. He assists with vetting new donations and helps oversee and promote the museum which is part of the City of Phoenix. He also writes a monthly column, “Ask the Appraiser” for Sun Life, a magazine for retirees in the greater Sun City, Sun City West, and Sun City Grand Arizona. The magazine has a 75,000 monthly run with his easy to read and informative column.
Actively involved in the local chamber of commerce, networking with Arizona First which promotes locally owned businesses, and being a member of a fifty year-old business marketing and networking organization have helped Tom build his appraisal business. Name recognition is everything.Tom is an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers (ISA’s) national organization and a member of Certified Appraisers Guild of America (CAGA). His specialty designation is “Antiques and Residential Contents” known as a generalist personal property appraiser. Tom specializes in everyday estates with the common trappings of collections, furnishings, bric-a-brac, vintage and antique items that are so prevalent in the average household.
