Patricia M. Dillon
Patricia Dillon is currently the President of Putnam Art Advisors and Consultants, Inc., specialists in the de-accessioning, financing, purchase and appraisal of fine art and antiques. Additionally, she advises artists and artist’s estates. Previously, she was a litigator who tried dozens of cases to verdict including matters involving authenticity and value in fine and decorative art. Patricia is a principal in an educational and consultant service for collectors in this changing economy. This fall, she will be teaching Art Law to appraisers and other art professionals at New York University and a course in“ Collecting Basics” at the Barlow-Pell Historical House in New York. A specialist in American Furniture and Contemporary American painting, Patricia has appraised for high net worth individuals, major corporations, museums and historical sites. Patricia also has appraised major ecclesiastical collections. She graduated from Boston College, The London School of Economics and Political Science and New York Law School. Additionally, she has a certificate in Appraisal Studies in Fine and Decorative Arts from New York University and a certificate from the Winterthur Furniture Studies Program. She has taken and passed USPAP. Moreover, she has taken advanced courses at Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Parsons School of Design, Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum and the Smithsonian Institution (Conservation Institute), New York University Graduate School of Fine Art, Winterthur Museum (University of Delaware) and Columbia University. She is a member of Winterthur Museum and Country Estate, American Institute of Conservation and the Appraisers Association of America.
