Vicky Nash Shaw is an ISA accredited personal property appraiser, and owner of Authentic Appraisal & Estate Service, LLC. Her firm offers a full range of professional appraisal services as well as buying & selling consultations.
As a generalist with credentials in Antiques and Residential Contents, Vicky also specializes in American and Asian decorative arts and furniture, American silver, French furniture, prints, and Chinese export porcelain. Vicky has appraised a wide variety of antiques and collectibles, ranging from 18th century furniture to a USS Sequoia presidential flag with Richard Nixon provenance to archaic Chinese bronzes. Her firm also appraises antique and classic cars.
With over eight years experience in antiques and collectibles, Vicky is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and has an MBA from Marshall University. She has completed a wide array of professional specialty training, including courses such as “Japanese Woodblock prints”, “Chinese and Japanese Ceramics”, “Valuing Later Asian Art”, “18th & 19th Century French Furniture”, and “Silver and the Modernism Movement.”
Vicky is a recipient of the International Society of Appraiser Distinguished Service Award for 2008-2009. She has traveled extensively in China, studying the collections of Chinese ceramics and Chinese furniture at the Shanghai Museum, at the Imperial Palace Museum in Beijing, and at the Shaanxi History Museum in Xian, China. She participated in a mini-appraisal fair with international antiques expert and author Judith Miller in 2007, and she has worked Antique Roadshow style appraisal fairs in North Carolina and Florida.
