Francine Proulx, MS, ASA, ISA AM
Francine Proulx is an independent personal property appraiser specializing in antiques, decorative and fine arts, a decorative/fine arts consultant, free lance writer on antiques and appraising and publisher of bi-monthly A/AIR Upcoming Antique Events and Antiques Related Websites Listings. Her appraisal and consulting business, Art/Antiques Information Resource, LLC, began in 2001 and her national clientele include individuals, corporations and the highest levels of federal government.
After 20+ years in the non-profit executive management and an early career in media, Francine obtained two post-graduate Certificates, one in Appraisal Studies and the other in Connoisseurship from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. She holds her B.A. with an Art History minor and a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Francine is an Accredited Senior Appraiser with the American Society of Appraisers, and an Accredited Member of the International Society of Appraisers. In 2005-06, she was the first Candidate Member ever appointed to an ASA national committee, the ASA Strategic Planning Task Force. In 2008, she chaired the ISA Mentoring Task Force which developed a plan focused on competency to benefit accredited members, novice appraisers and the organization as a whole. She currently serves as Vice President of the Washington DC ASA Chapter as well as being active in the ISA National Capital Chapter.
Always available to share her expertise and experience, Francine guest lectures on appraising in the Smithsonian/Corcoran College of Art and Design’s Master’s program on decorative arts and speaks to professional and community groups on a regular basis. Her articles on antiques and appraising have appeared in general publications, antiques trades including Maine Antiques Digest and scholarly appraisal publications such as the initial Journal of Advanced Appraisal Studies 2008 and the ASA Personal Property Journal.
