Daphne Rosenzweig, Ph.D., author, professor, museum exhibition organizer, and appraiser, is a specialist in the field of Asian Art and Archaeology.

An Asian art consultant to museums nationwide, she has organized numerous traveling exhibitions on subjects as diverse as Chinese jades, 18th century Chinese court art, Chinese painting and ceramics, Korean art, and Japanese prints. Dr. Rosenzweig has presented many lectures for international and national audiences; including the Morikami Museum of Art’s National Endowment for the Arts Lecture Series, the International Netsuke Society, the College Art Association, the Association for Asian Studies, and the Ringling Museum of Art.

Dr. Rosenzweig earned her A B. from Mount Holyoke College, and her M.A. and Ph.D. in Asian Art and Archaeology and Far Eastern Languages and Literature from Columbia University. She conducted research on later Chinese painting for two years at the National Palace Museum in Taipei on a Fulbright Fellowship, and has traveled extensively throughout Asia. She is the author of over fifty books and articles on Asian art, including the text “The Appraisal of Japanese Prints”, and is a member of the Morikami Museum’s Collections Visiting Committee and a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society-Korea Branch. She has edited books for the National Gallery of Art, Washington, and reviewed books for The Tibet Journal, and other professional journals.

A Certified Appraiser of Personal Property with the International Society of Appraisers (ISA CAPP), she is currently a member of its Board of Directors. Her company, Rosenzweig Associates, Inc., is a personal property firm specializing in Asian and Islamic art appraisals for the purpose of Federal Tax Functions (donation and estate) as well as for insurance, damage and loss, and equitable distribution. Among her clients are U. S. Customs, State Farm, and Sun Trust. She serves as a design consultant for firms engaged in special event planning, such as the yearly Chinese New Year displays for the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas and the Ringling Brothers Circus.

A university professor for many years, Dr. Rosenzweig currently teaches Asian, Buddhist and Islamic art, Western architecture, and other art history courses as a Liberal Arts faculty member of the Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, FL.
